Title I Program

Reading is “Beary” Good!

On Tuesday evening, Nov. 15th, The Title 1 students and their families gathered for their annual parent night. Parent night gives the parents an opportunity to receive information about Title 1, their school, and tips for helping their student achieve success in school. We began the evening with our dinner, of hamburgers, hot dogs and chips. Harley Huskie came to show that he loves reading, just as much as sports. .  Showing that reading can be fun and active, after dinner some of the older students read Shel Silverstein poems to the families that they had picked out.  Then Mrs. Kasten took the children into the library to listen to some stories. While the students were in the library, Ms. Nittler talked to the parents about the program and answered questions. When we came back together, everyone played sight word bingo until it was time to leave.  Each of the Title 1 students received a red tie-dyed t-shirt.  A big Huskie thank you to Keith Kahnt for grillin’ all those wonderful hamburgers and hot dogs and to PAWS for making the great cookies that we had for dessert.
