After School Program

The Site Directors for the White City After-School Program this year are Mrs. Coons & Mrs. Dowell.  We're excited to be sharing our pre-school building for the after-school program.  We have many interesting things to teach the kids that attend the ASP.  There will be a daily schedule that will include recess, snacks, homework, tutoring, reading, and an enrichment program.  We are asking community members who have a talent or hobby that they would like to share with the kids to please contact Mrs. Coons at (785) 349-2211.

The ASP will cost $4 per child per day with a family cap available.  Scholarships are available to those families that qualify.  There will be no transportation available.  If you have not filled out a registration paper or if you have lost the paper, notify Mrs. Coons or send a note to school with your child stating that you want them to attend the program, and we will provide you with the paper work when you pick up your child.  If you have any questions about the ASP or you want to share your interests with our children please contact Mrs. Coons.  We do ask parents sign their child out and to provide a photo ID when they pick up their children.

Learns About Drama Production

The After-School Program children enjoyed getting a look at the "behind the scenes" activities
of a play production.  The WCHS Forensics team invited them to the dress rehearsal
of World of Beauty and the Beast.  Students enjoyed seeing how the props and sets were
constructed, watching the students apply their stage make-up, and getting to
assume the role of one of the characters for a few minutes.

Forensics  members show the ASP kids what its like back stage.

ASP students...good listeners!
