Students in Grades K-8 participate in the Accelerated Reader program.  Throughout the nine weeks, students read books from the Accelerated Reader list and then take a reading comprehension test about their book. Students earn points based on their book selections and test scores.  At the end of the nine weeks, they have the opportunity to shop at the "AR Store."  Prize tables range from 1 pt. to 25+ points. At the December AR Store students may purchase Christmas gifts for friends and family using the points they have accumulated.
