The White City Alumni Association actively supports its alma mater. WCHS alumni  frequently help with building and grounds projects, purchasing equipment and materials, and volunteering to lend a helping hand wherever needed.  Each year the Alumni Association of White City Schools hosts a golf tournament to raise scholarship money given to WCHS graduates.

Every 3 years, the graduates of  White City High gather for a reunion that features a program, dinner and dance. The Alumni Association will be hosting their reunion this year on May 25-26, 2012. A golf tournament will be held on Friday, May 25, at the Custer Hill Golf Course at 5202 Normandy Drive, Fort Riley. Entry fee is $35 per person which includes cart rental and green fees. Special golf package is also available for $50 which includes car rental, green fees, 5 mulligans and a T-shirt. Businesses and families may also sponsor a hole for $25 (names or business info will be placed on a Tee Box). Richard Nittler is in charge of the golf tourney so you may mail your entry fees to him at PO Box 248, White City, KS 66872.

The banquet will be held on Saturday evening, May 26, at the Clarion Hotel in Manhattan. The evening will include a meal, short business meeting, recognition of the 50 and 25 year classes (1960, 1961, 1962, 1985, 1986 and 1987) as well as honoring the new graduates of the past three years (2010, 2011 and 2012). There will also be a short memorial service honoring those graduates who have passed away since the 2009 reunion. The 2012 scholarships will be awarded at the banquet and the recipients must be present to win. Later, everyone can dance to music by Complete Music or enjoy the Memorabilia Room which will feature photos, yearbooks and other memorabilia.

On Sunday afternoon, the White City School will be open from 2-4 pm for everyone to tour and reminisce about their school days. The Box Car Museum and the Baxter School at Katy Park will also be open that day.

The Alumni Association will be sending out invitations in early March with all of the information and registration form. If you do not receive one or have a change of address, please let Joann Kahnt know (kahnt@tctelco.net or 785-349-2871).

The Alumni Association will also be publishing a new alumni directory. Information will be included in the invitation letter or you may contact Joann.
